Amrita Review: 60-Second Summary
Although Amrita’s fondness for the Vedic mythology surrounding cannabis illuminates the imagination, it is not nearly enough to justify a lack of discussion on the source material. Furthermore, claims of third-party laboratory testing do not have the backing offered by proper Certificates of Analysis. Finally, as living the state of California (and being 21 or older) is a prerequisite to making a purchase, Amrita is likely not ideal for many CBD consumers.
Amrita Brand Review
Whether it’s Vedic myths that speak of churning Oceans of Milk to retrieve the ‘nectar’ (cannabis), or the branch of Buddhism that believes the Buddha once subsisted entirely on hemp seeds for six years, Amrita is big on the ancient, mysterious, and often exciting history of this enigmatic plant. If we had a vested interest in learning about marijuana mythology, Amrita would undoubtedly be a great place to start; however, as we are here to determine the quality and ethics of various CBD vendors, Amrita falls a bit short.
While they do claim they desire to offer the best cannabis products to patients, the source of the hemp used in their product creation remains unknown. Amrita repeatedly states that an independent, third party laboratory tests their products for purity, no Certificates of Analysis are published on their website – amritaholistic.com – to verify this claim.
Another obvious drawback of their offerings is the inclusion of THC in their tinctures and vape cartridges (ranging in price from $45-$108), requiring a valid California medical marijuana recommendation (or simply being an adult 21 years of age or older who lives in or is visiting the state of California).
As is often the case, we do not have enough information to determine whether Amrita simply lacks the proper documentation to substantiate their claims, or if things like CoAs simply aren’t offered to consumers. We encourage Amrita to step up their transparency, and prove what they say on their website: that they truly desire to bring high quality hemp oil to the people.
