Cannatera: 60-Second Summary
Cannatera has a beautifully branded luxury line of CBD skincare. Their vibe is fresh, vibrant, and clean, with a promise of all-natural ingredients aimed to refresh, revive, and renew the skin. The company states on their website, “It just doesn’t get any more pure and clean, or responsible for that matter, than this!” Problem is, we can’t substantiate that claim. There’s substantial information missing, including Cannatera’s extraction method, testing protocols, and more. We’re pressing pause for now.
Cannatera Brand Review
Cannatera hails from Colorado, sourcing industrial hemp grown under the sunshine of the centennial state for broad spectrum CBD oil in their skincare line. They have the luxury consumer in mind and promise nothing unnatural: just clean, plant science. The company incorporates antioxidant-rich ingredients into their formulations like bromelain, an anti-inflammatory found in pineapples with well-known skin benefits. Other potent healers include apple extract, calendula, micro algae, and of course, phytocannabinoid-rich hemp oil.
The Cannatera line is pricey and contains a full system of products meant to heal unhealthy skin cells and regenerate them for a vibrant, healthy glow, courtesy of CBD oil and other ingredients. Included are:
- CBD Anti-Aging Facial Cleanser at $50
- RENEW Anti-Aging Moisturizer with broad spectrum CBD at $100
- REVIVE Facial Serum with broad spectrum CBD at $120
- Cannatera Ageless System (all three products) at $240
We acknowledge that Cannatera uses great ingredients known for their health benefits and more specifically, their benefits for the skin. But there’s one crucial ingredient we need to know more about — their CBD oil.
We know their hemp is sourced from Colorado, but we have no clue as to their extraction method. This is a crucial piece of information, since harmful solvents like butane are often used for a cheaper process. Cannatera also makes no mention of testing their CBD oil whatsoever, nothing about contaminants or purity, nothing. This is concerning because we don’t know that their CBD oil is safe or if there is any included in the products at all. Ipso facto, the Quality and Safety Badge are a no-go for now.
Another thing that concerns us is a lack of comprehensive ingredients lists; Cannatera simply lists the essential oils, etc. included in each product. Considering their products are CBD topicals, a segment notorious for its inclusion of synthetics and even dangerous compounds, real ingredients lists are non-negotiable.
Bottom Line – We encourage Cannatera to focus more on their actual CBD oil by providing information on the extraction method and conducting tests for safety, including contaminants and purity. The brand looks and sounds like vendors we’ve seen before: obvious knowledge and experience in skincare but little in the CBD/natural health space. Hopefully, Cannatera will also list their ingredients (a photo of the ingredients list on the product packaging is the most transparent) to gain trust from consumers.
