Grassroots Harvest: 60-Second Summary
It’s fairly obvious that Grassroots Harvest has a love for the grass roots they’re named after, but the rest of the company’s ethos or cannabidiol manufacturing practices are less easy to discern. Despite a wide range of CBD products on offer and some encouraging signs, like mostly all-natural and a few locally-sourced ingredients, the company fails to provide a few key aspects we look for—including all-important CBD purity test results—and we just can’t find enough information to award the brand our quality or safety badges.
Grassroots Harvest Brand Review
Grassroots Harvest is an Austin, Texas-based operation which believes that Mother Nature should be the ultimate last word on CBD oil formulas. (“She knows what she’s doing, after all,” the company asserts.)
But other than this lovely worldview, we get very little information about the company or their preferred cannabidiol practices, besides a single assurance that that they use “100% organic” hemp and their products are made in small batches at their Austin facility. Unfortunately, this isn’t quite enough for us, and, paired with the information gap on their CBD extraction process, we can’t award the company our quality badge.
Grassroots Harvest also says it strives to use as few other ingredients as possible in its extensive line of cannabidiol products (again, citing the wisdom of Mother Nature), and, when the company does provide a full list of ingredients, they mostly check out as all-natural. We do see Propylene Glycol pop up in the CBD vape cartridges, and though it’s a common preservative found in foods and cosmetics, there have been concerns raised about it in the past. But we do like that their honey is locally sourced in Texas!
Still, several other items, such as the CBD skin care lotion, include no additional ingredient descriptions at all, and some, like those found in the CBD gummies line, are particularly vague.
Yet there are plenty of items to browse through. For sale at Grassroots are a range of CBD capsules, CBD oil vape cartridges, CBD dog treats, CBD gummies and other cannabidiol edibles, cannabidiol lotion, CBD oil tinctures for both humans and pets, and several different “bundles” of related products. (Whew!)
Prices vary as greatly as the product selection, spanning from $20 for some of the smaller CBD oil tinctures to $95 for the company’s largest and most potent cannabidiol oil. Most CBD edibles—including the CBD gummies—are about $20, and other products generally stay within the $30-$50 range.
Bottom line: We’re big fans of Grassroots Harvest’s embrace of Mother Nature, but the rest of their beliefs and manufacturing practices are a bit hard to find on their website, making it difficult for us to award many other badges. We’d love to see a little more information on where their hemp is sourced from, their CBD extraction method, and test results on the quality and purity of their CBD oil.
