Hemp Direct: 60-Second Summary
The name Hemp Direct almost has the sound of a cannabidiol department store, and the company isn’t far from a digital version of one. The website sources its CBD oil products from a number of brands, though it offers its own small line of CBD oil tinctures and softgels—all of which are backed up by solid scientific numbers showcasing their purity and potency. And while we get a lovely bit of background on the company’s founding, we wish we had just a tiny bit more detail about how the cannabidiol oil is extracted from its hemp plants.
Hemp Direct Brand Review
It’s almost as if Hemp Direct’s founder, Kevin McCartney, was custom-designed to open such a company—though you’ll find no such artificially-manipulated products on his digital shelves.
The Western Kentucky University grad holds a degree in horticulture, was president of the school’s horticulture club, and had a background in hemp, specifically, before starting the company. (Kentucky is also home to many agricultural and industrial hemp farms—though, Hemp Direct sources its crop from Colorado.)
As such, it may be no surprise that the company flaunts the growth records of its own products, offering an extensive list of third-party lab test results attesting for the lack of residual solvents and presence of the advertised amount of cannabidiol—and absence of THC—in the line.
While Hemp Direct sources CBD oil products from a range of companies, it also offers a small batch from its own line, including a number of CBD oil tinctures in varying strengths and sizes and cannabidiol softgels. The CBD softgels are vegan-friendly which come in both the isolate and full-spectrum variety, and prices range from $35 to $75.
Bottom line: Hemp Direct’s line of CBD oil products is small but focused, and safe. Third-party lab test results prove the potency and purity of the items the company creates, and users can also shop from a range of other cannabidiol providers for a more well-rounded experience. Still, the company just misses notching our quality badge as it’s not quite as clear about how its CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plants.

Badges For Hemp Direct
Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) are available for the range of products on offer from Hemp Direct specifically, with the results speaking to the absence of residual solvents and the advertised levels of CBD and THC in the items.
Hemp Direct was dreamed up as a way to help direct more hemp products toward people who could benefit from them. Along with a few of its own CBD oil creations, the company sources from several other cannabidiol brands to offer a well-rounded CBD oil inventory.
