Rose Gold CBD: 60-Second Summary
With a focus on beauty, wellness, and pain relief, Rose Gold wants to harness the natural benefits of cannabidiol to help women retain healthy (and pain-free) skin and spread the good word about the CBD industry. But not all of the ingredients found in their skincare line are quite as natural as their cannabidiol, and there are a few questions about where their CBD oil comes from to begin with.
Rose Gold CBD Brand Review
We love Rose Gold’s mission and are all about the idea of women empowering women. (And, let’s face it, the idea of highlighting the natural benefits of cannabidiol.) But from there, things seem to get less rosy, from our point of view.
While the website offers some solid information on beauty, skincare, and the anti-aging process, it offers very little—if anything—in the way of data on the company’s CBD. We don’t see it mentioned where the hemp is sourced from, how the cannabidiol is extracted, or whether the CBD is tested for quality and contaminants, let alone any results of those tests.
Regardless, CBD oil plays a part in their full range of products, which include pure CBD oil drops, as well as a skincare line and several pain relief creams and gels. (Prices for individual products range from $35 to $50, or entire ‘lines’ or ‘kits’ can be purchased for $100-$125.)
But the CBD oil isn’t the only ingredient that has us concerned. Some of the products include substances such as PEG 100, several polysorbates, and triethanolamine, which all contain or are treated with the noxious chemical ethylene oxide. Dimethicone, a silicone lubricant, and retinyl palmitate, which has been studied for possible connections to skin tumors and lesions, are also present, as well as several other concerning ingredients.
To be fair, these substances are commonly used in the cosmetics industry, and Rose Gold actually includes a link to an ingredient list with explanations for the long list of science-y words attached to each product, but we like to highlight these ingredients when we see them, as part of our dedicated mission to inform users on safety and quality.
Bottom line: Rose Gold has a great mission to start with, but more information on where they get their cannabidiol, and some test results on the purity of their CBD oil, would help further their mission to bring a good name to the CBD industry. We’d also say that this skincare line is not exactly for those who are looking for “all-natural” alternatives.
