Urbal Activ: 60-Second Summary
For those who want an active, healthy life free of chronic pain, Urbal Activ has the answer. Their CBD products are geared toward more active individuals and include water-soluble tinctures made with nano technology and multiple options for dogs and cats. This high-performance brand is off to a great start, but they need to get with the program by posting their current independent lab results online. Doing so is no longer an anomaly in the industry, but rather part of best practices that sets apart trusted brands from the many CBD vendors popping up almost daily.
Urbal Activ Brand Review
Urbal Activ is a performance-focused CBD vendor out of Tempe, Arizona. Their website is full of photos of golfers, cyclists, and other people living an active lifestyle whom they’re targeting with their product line. Because of the benefits of CBD for pain and inflammation and the balancing effect it has on the body, athletes and those who are regularly active make up a big segment of CBD users. Urbal Activ promises purity and potency for optimal relief for their customers at an affordable price.
Urbal Activ sources their CBD isolate (they do not offer any full spectrum options) from industrial hemp organically grown in the United States. They utilize the solventless CO2 extraction method and interestingly, do not use any actual CBD oil at all. The company formulates their tinctures with water-soluble, nano-sized CBD particles, and the rest of the line is created with the straight isolate. Nanotechnology is relatively new in the space, doubling down on the bioavailability of water-soluble CBD compounds by shrinking them to a miniscule size more easily absorbed by cells. Innovation at its finest!
All in all, we like the Urbal Activ lineup that offers variety but doesn’t stray into too many areas. They’re not a CBD brand that tries to do it all, but instead focuses on select offerings and does them well. Their CBD products include:
- Body balm with lipid-encapsulated CBD for superior bioavailability
- CBD drops (water soluble)
- CBD mints in key lime and peppermint
- CBD e-liquids in two formulas
- CBD for pets with treats and tinctures
We have just two discrepancies to point out with Urbal Activ. First, they claim to conduct regular third-party tests, but these are only available upon request. We encourage the brand to go ahead and post results for purity and contaminants. To qualify for our Safety Badge, they need to have a current cannabinoid profile listed for each SKU. Plus, they need contaminants results for the CBD isolate used in the products.
Finally, Urbal Activ claims to use all-natural ingredients and zero artificial preservatives. However, we found stearic acid (polysorbate 60) in the CBD boldy balm, and they use PG, a synthetic ingredient, in their CBD e-liquids. They’re not the worst offender out there, but we’d like to see them either drop the claim or drop these two ingredients from their formulations.
Bottom Line – Urbal Activ has an impressive line of CBD isolate products for the active consumer and their pets. They partner with an animal rescue charity and have the sourcing and processes of a high-quality CBD vendor. Tweaks including posting independent lab results and getting right with their all-natural claim will do wonders for the brand.
