Veritas Farms: 60-Second Summary
“Healthy plants, healthy people, healthy planet.” This is the ethos that drives Veritas Farms, a family owned business that oversees all stages of production on their farm in southern Colorado. Here is a group that prides themselves on transparency and a passion for sustainability. They claim to consider a triple bottom line that encompasses the plants they grow, the people they help, and the money they save. And we think they have the processes and company culture to back it up.
Veritas Farms Brand Review
Veritas Farms is a family-run enterprise operating out of Pueblo, Colorado with a down-home feel and process to match. Like a fine wine, their methodology entails heightened attention to detail and control over all aspects of manufacturing. In fact, everything happens right on the farm.
First, their baby clones are clipped from the mothers and rooted. After about one to two weeks, they are transferred to pots where they mature and grow. The cannabis flowers and leaves are then harvested and dried onsite in the barn and mashed by hand into powder. Gentle ethanol extraction is used next to isolate cannabinoids as well as flavonoids and terpenes sans THC (all Veritas Farms products are full spectrum except their gummies). Finally, the whole plant extract is used in different pharmacist-developed formulations in a mid-size product line.
Tinctures, topicals, capsules, gummies, and pet oils are sold in their online store. Tinctures include MCT oil, Stevia, and essential oils in addition to the signature whole plant extract. The topical line features powerful salves, moisturizing lotions, lip balm, and the new massage oil containing organic golden jojoba oil. Veritas Farms gummies are made with CBD isolate and organic ingredients, though they do not provide an official ingredient list, so we’re unsure what those ingredients are. Capsules, like the tinctures, combine compounds with MCT oil as a carrier, and their pet oils contain fish extract powder for flavoring.
Veritas Farms exhibits a genuine adherence to sustainable farming practices by conserving water, using no-till farming, and even creating their own fertilizer to accommodate the local ecosystem. They consistently monitor cannabinoid levels with an HPLC analyzer throughout production and conduct the appropriate independent testing. While we believe their products are safe, they narrowly squeaked by receiving the safety badge due to two SKUs missing test results and some SKUs with CoAs dating back more than eight months. However, since Veritas Farms engages in ardently sustainable, small-scale farming and oversees the entire manufacturing process onsite, we do not doubt the safety of their products.
We could not award the charity badge, as Veritas Farms is not currently associated with or engaged in any non-profit endeavors. And while their business model of accomplishing all stages of production onsite promotes quality and environmentalism, they aren’t doing anything particularly innovative in the industry.
Bottom Line – Veritas Farms is a family operation that nurtures its plants from seed to sale and promotes eco-conscious practices. Their products are all natural, locally sourced, and contain premium quality full spectrum extract.
