Weller: 60-Second Summary
Don’t just be well… be Weller! That’s the idea behind this cool Boulder brand that specializes in CBD-infused food and beverages with pizzazz. Their CBD products are delicious, gluten free, non GMO, and vegan. They hit all the marks for tasty, healthy treats you can feel good about purchasing. Plus, Weller is obviously committed to sustainability and clean sourcing. Our only qualm is their ‘broad spectrum’ CBD claim that isn’t as ‘broad’ as we’d like.
Weller Brand Review
Weller hails from Colorado, where founders Matt and John decided to put their years of experience in the natural food business to good use after reaping the natural benefits of CBD. The goal? To improve people’s lives to a state that’s ‘better than well’. And thus, Weller was born.
The name of the game here is functional CBD snacks for busy lives. We love that Weller gives off a transparent essence and backs it up with comprehensive ingredients lists. Everything they use is all natural, and the company claims to screen all their partners. Weller uses straightforward, clear language in their branding, a huge plus in this space (many CBD vendors can overwhelm with information and new terms, leaving consumers confused as to what they’re actually getting). What can we say, we like the vibe.
It all started in 2017 with their CBD coconut bites. These delicious treats come in the original coconut variety, caramel, and dark chocolate. You can now buy them in bags with 25mg cannabidiol per bite or the multi-serving baggies with 5mg each. The ingredients are awesome and simple with goodies like sea salt and coconut cane sugar, making the CBD coconut bites a crunchy, salty-sweet delight with a surprisingly low sugar content.
Next up is the zero-calorie CBD sparkling water with 25mg per can. Grab a six pack and enjoy fresh, crisp flavors like tangerine, watermelon, and black cherry. While Weller is not the first to create a CBD seltzer (if you didn’t know, it’s a thing), they’ve definitely got a winner on their hands with this all-natural bubbler.
Finally, Weller sells a Barista Blend water-soluble CBD powder for mixing in drinks and food. It’s virtually tasteless and goes perfectly with coffee, hence the name. We’ve seen this product from another CBD vendor, but since it features water-soluble cannabidiol, Weller gets the Innovation Badge.
Weller sources from the great hemp states of Oregon and Colorado and uses supercritical CO2 fluid extraction, making the Quality Badge an easy get. But although they post cannabinoid profiles for each SKU, they are currently ineligible for the Safety Badge due to a lack of contaminants test results.
And speaking of tests, their cannabinoid profiles reveal something possibly contrary to what they advertise. Weller is adamant they use ‘broad spectrum’ cannabidiol and even describe their CBD as such in their ingredients lists. Broad spectrum is a safer term than full spectrum and signals that the cannabidiol in question contains more than just CBD: either other cannabinoids, terpenes, or both.
But cannabinoid analysis tests run by Botanacor show only CBD in all their products, with the exception of their caramel CBD coconut bites that tested for CBG. Perhaps their broad spectrum claim refers to terpenes in their cannabidiol; if so, it would be smart for them to provide terpenes tests as well.
Weller has a great vibe and clean, quality CBD products. We’re just bringing up this ‘broad spectrum’ discrepancy because it’s popping up everywhere in the industry now. Always check the CoAs, or simply read our reviews. We always check.
Bottom Line – Weller has delicious, nutritious CBD-infused foods and an awesome sparkling water with clean ingredients we love.
